The Sports paintings explore themes of fragility and durability of the human condition, gender disparity, and the purity of physical expression. Individual sports include soccer, tennis, basketball, baseball, skiing, auto sports, hockey, football and snowboarding. At times the works feature a recognizable player while at others the subject is obscured, resulting in a more abstract composition. All of the works seek to draw a parallel between athletes and artists, the studio and the field of play.
